this morning...
Tess (from her bed): blahblahblahblahblah
Dan runs in to get her and finds her still lying down.
Dan: you're not awake!
Tess: I not awake, I'm Tess!

bibbit
Tess has a new-found fascination with the animals in this house. She's always loved the cats and she sorta likes the puppy. The animals she LOVES are the lizards and the frog. She calls them all "bibbits" which equals "ribbit" if you are 18 months old. Earlier tonight I heard her talking to Eduardo, the bearded dragon, like he was talking back to her. She'd say some jibberish in tess-ese and then laugh at his response. That Eduardo has the BEST sense of humor, don't you know. I just wish he'd stop using curse words around her because she's gonna pick up on that one day and then someone's gonna have some splainin' to do.

Sometimes...
When we're admiring our baby either Dan or I will say "how can you say that's not a baby?" Just like the pro-life t-shirt Jake got at school a few years back.
It always makes us laugh. What nerds. Sometimes we even say "how can you say that's not a cat?" about our kitty.

ch ch ch changes
It's been a busy month. Tess is growing like a weed. She really is beautiful. Her hair sticks up and I'm starting to think she resembles Conan O'Brien. I can't really put into words just how wonderful this little girl is. She hardly cries, she sleeps 6 hours at night before waking up, then usually goes right back to sleep and she doesn't spit up...ever. She's an angel and I'm really glad because I'm old n stuff and it'd be very difficult to balance insanity and a bad baby. She's the bomb.
The big kids are doing well too for the most part. There are always speed bumps in life and we've hit a few here recently but we'll come through it with flying colors I'm sure.
Last night we went trick or treating. Kendall was a princess, Trev was a skelaton king and Tess stayed home with Papa and handed out candy. Jake joined his hooligan friends for some I'm-too-old-for-this-but-please-give-me-candy-anyway trick or treating. He can't eat most of it anyway because he's got braces but he had fun.
In less than a month I have to go back to work. I'm really not looking forward to leaving the house. I love being here when the kids get home. I love being able to be the mom all the time and I'm going to be miserable not having lunch hour with Dan and Tess. It won't be the end of the world though, right? And there are bills to pay and all that jazz. Bleh. That means I have 27 days to find a sitter or day care place for her. I half-heartedly started today but we haven't settled on anything just yet.
Speaking of lunch with Dan and Tess (and I was)...we had lunch downtown today at Sammy T's. The leaves are turning and starting to fall and the temps were brisk but not too cold. Perfect day for downtown. I love Fredericksburg in the Fall. Of course, the company was what made it great.
