apple bottom jeans and boots with the fuuuuurrr
Happy President's Day!
I'm back at work after a beeeautiful weekend. Friday the kidlets were out of school and Dan worked from home so I spent the 4 days before that preparing myself for the house wreckage. It turned out not-so-bad. Once I threatened to stay away til the dishes were done and bottles were made, everything was taken care of. I took a huge step forward and started studying for my mcsa test again so maybe sometime this year I'll complete ONE of the FOUR tests required to get certified. Ugh. It's just so hard to focus.
Saturday Dan had to work from home during the day but we had the night to ourselves that night. Mom and dad took the 4 youngest kids and Jake, well, who cares. So we took the babies to the woods at around 3 and then became insanely giddy when faced with being able to do ANYTHING WE WANT for the next 15 or 16 hours. It was the coolest. We had a huge sushi lunch/dinner at Otani and the chef gave us free stuff that I liked even better than the sushi. Then we went to the mall and walked around for a bit and then we went to see Juno. Juno was such a sweet movie. Then we came home and slept through the entire night without once waking up to feed Max.
Oh did I forget to mention, like, 100 times that we got Rock Band? We did. I got it for Dan for our anniversary (that's my justification for spending the cash since our anniversary isn't for a month). We also got SceneIt? which was sorta for me but sorta for Dan too since we both love it. So once we got the kids from church and came home we spent the entire day playing games and eating and drinking Coronas. The kids didn't have corona and I didn't eat. But you get the picture. It was such a fun day. The only one who did not enjoy Rock Band was Tess. Her normal dose of attention got taken up by a stupid game and she did not like that one bit. TOO BAD SUCKA. (but mommy still loves you very much)
Ok so, for this girls night out thing we need 10 more girls in order to have the limo-bus filled. So if anyone reads this and knows 10 chicks who want to have fun, please contact me or Angel or Terri or really, anyone. The cost is $45 and it's a guaranteed great time.

list
Good things:
- survivor and big brother. need I say more?
- This weekend we're going out. Like..out out. Mom and dad are watching the babies so Dan and I can do a meal and a movie or whatever on earth we choose to do and then we can sleep one entire night without waking up for babies.
- Work rocks. I love my job. I do need to start working on certifications but that'll happen. Right now I'm just happy to be back.
- The kids are all healthy. Dan and I are doing a tango around the symptoms and I'm sure we can avoid it. At least I can. Dan's a boy.
- It's valentines day and while it's a shitty holiday, dan took care of it last week and avoided my mood swings.
- I'm about 3 hours shy of being caught up on soaps.
Great things:
ha. you know me better than that.
Shitty things:
- we're poor and I'm suffering from end-of-winter wanderlust. I want to go on a trip. Even just a little one.
- my diet isn't great. I don't think I gained anything this week but I do need to be diligent and get back on track. I am not going to fall apart.
- Tess may have actually hit the terrible two's for real. She's into EVERYTHING and her attitude is a bit uh, shitty. I'm hoping it's a phase that ends soon.
- Max still isnt' sleeping through the night. He's cute 'n stuff but he needs to sleep.

Tess art
You might not believe this but Off! bug spray removed Tess's sharpie drawing from our wall. Because of bug spray, our daughter is still alive today.
I can't wait to return to work tomorrow.

holy vomit, batman
I went back to work Monday and it's been fabulous. I have so much ahead of me with our schools converting to Windows from Novell. I'm really busy and then I get home and the kids are there needing dinner and attention and I don't mind giving it to them. It'd be awesome if Max slept longer but we're making it.
This week was Tessie's turn to be sick. I went into panic mode because I finally went back to work and now there's no sick leave and I can't stay home with her yet. Fortunately for us Dan's job is awesome and they let him work from home to take care of her. This worked very well because I don't do well with puke and he's a man of patience with iron guts. She's better now aside from having a bad case of the back door trots and some croup.
Right now I'm sitting here in my pajamas and not feeling one bit sad about not having anything to do this weekend. The house isn't too messy and I'm cooking a pork tenderloin that's been marinated in jim beam, soy sauce, garlic and brown sugar. My parents gave us half of a pig for Christmas so if any of you have pork chop, ribs or sausage recipes that you love, please send them to me!
Dieting was a bust this week. I blame my back-to-workness and maybe some PMS for the 1.2 lb gain but I'm not discouraged. I just need to find time to work the gym back into my schedule.
Also, girls night out is April 12. If anyone who is not on fredtalk wants to go and reads this, the cost is $45. We have a limo with a stripper pole and the funnest girls in town. The only stipulation is being female and paying in advance. Hurry because there is limited seating!

showered
Saturday we went over to Terri's house for my post-baby shower. Gayle, Amy and Terri threw the best ever baby shower. We had food for the dieters and food for the not-dieters, good friends, rock band in the basement for the boys and kids and of course, BEER. As always with the mean mommy club the party started at around 2 and ended way later than that. As always, one of us zonked out early. This time it wasn't me. I LOVE YOU BECKYSUE! We got so much wonderful stuff for the baby and so much good stuff for us and many many diapers and wipes and who else walks away from a baby shower with 4 bottles of wine, some dvds and the juno soundtrack? Angel even got us a sex ed book so we know what causes all of this. Once again I'm reminded of the awesomeness of our friends. I'm all aflutter w/ love :)
Yesterday I started back at work and back on my diet, from which I'd taken 2 days off. I feel like a bad kid sent to the corner in regards to my weight but at work, I was welcomed back by the coworkers who are SO happy to get rid of taking care of my schools. I missed Max a lot. I missed The Young and The Restless too, but I'm watching it now on tivo. I have to say, it was wicked cool to be back at work fixing things and driving around and even the meeting I had to attend wasn't bad. I love my job.
Now...about the diet. I've done really well about sticking to it. I lost 7.4 lbs in January. I even made it through the pampered chef party. I did not do so well this weekend. The baby shower and superbowl food nachos were just too good to resist. I'm back on it though. That's the beauty of weight watchers I guess. It's forgiving. I just need to make time to record my food even though I'm working so I don't go overboard. We took a yoga class last week at the gym and that was fun. Maybe next time I'll work out on some machines if I get brave.
That's about it. Time to get moving!
