freedom rocks
One thing that I've learned this year is that I've certainly learned to pack as much fun into the weekend as I possibly can. I feel like every single weekend since Easter has been packed full of things and stuff and people and drinking and having fun.
This past weekend started on Thursday because I was off for the holiday. We had another installment of the mean mommies and babies. I believe we had at least 23 people at the house eating burgers and dogs, drinking beers, swimming, laughing and enjoying the summer. It was so awesome to have everyone there. We got up Friday and left for the river where we spent the entire time eating seafood and steak, boat riding, floating on tubes in the river and watching my mom completely school my kids at badminton. She kicked everyone's ass who came up against her. Jake is in awe and believes that she's been holding out some super powers or something. Saturday night the kids did a fireworks show for us right out on the beach. It's so nice that they're big enough to entertain us for a change.
Yesterday we packed up and came home. Gracie was so tired that she hardly moved all day. Max and I took a 3+ hour nap and then Dan and I went out for thai food and ice cream last night because I realized we hadn't had a moment alone in 4 days.
This week Jake is off at Fredcamp and next week Kendall goes to camp. We may or may not go back to the river this coming weekend for the church picnic. It's usually fun, but I really have to admit that floating on the river without a nice cold beer is just not the same.
